This design and build project comprised the construction of a 12,000ft2 office building.
This involved a steel frame construction supporting a standing seam roof as well as a combination of cavity brick and block/composite cladding to the façade. This was also teamed with large areas of curtain walling which all contributes to making this a modern, high quality office block.
Externally, sensitive regarding of the banking was needed and installation of a series of retaining walls. All associated paving works and drainage along with bypass interceptors, comprehensive ducting installations for CCTV, signage and external lighting were also carried out.
Environmental improvements include recycled aggregates, diverse native landscape planting, bird and bat boxes, log piles and Lacewing habitat have been designed into this construction together with water conservation measures. “A” rated green guide materials, best practice noise and dust control and very high insulation levels were teamed with low air leakage, an Air Source heating and cooling system and centralised controls monitored by computer. All of this was combined with a high efficiency automated LED lighting scheme ensuring that this office achieved an energy rating, EPC of “A”.
The building complies fully with Secure By Design requirements and also achieved a BREEAM “Very Good” rating.
