The design and build construction of phase 1, a new warehouse / production facility for W Lamb Limited, consisting approximately 45,000ft2 of floor space with associated offices and external works.
Another challenging site with low ground bearing pressures and a river course running from one side to the other. The solution is to cut and fill using Lime Stabilisation techniques, this will allow traditional pad foundations to be installed to support a steel framed structure, with elevational treatments of a very high standard with multi-coloured cladding installed in a distraction pattern to break up the mass and meet planners demanding requirement, including the roof. The floor slab will be placed on the newly engineered fill.
Best practice noise and dust control, Air Driven Heat Recovery Units, high efficient automated lighting scheme, as well as environmental improvements including diverse, native landscape planting, bird boxes and log piles will also be used.
The project is to achieved a BREEAM “Very Good” rating and will provide 10% renewable energy via roof mounted Solar Panels connected back into the national grid, this together with the new estate road and infrastructure, a SUDS surface water attenuation system, water conservation measures, a new estate wide sewage treatment plant will help to deliver a highly efficient development. The building will also comply fully with Secure By Design requirements
